Chicago Indoor Rowing Record Challenge - $10,000 Cash Pool

US & World Records Now Virtual
If you compete in a recognized Concept 2 US or Canadian event between January 1, 2008 and February 16, 2008, you can compete in the Record Challenge for cash. . Requirements: You must register and pay for CIRC 2008 one day before your local sanctioned race but no later than February 11, 2008. If you break a US or World Record at your event, you must notify us within 24 hours via email with particulars.

CIRC Record Breakers - All Nationalities
If you break a CIRC Record you become part of the $1000 Cash Pool. If 1 record is broken, the competitor will get $300. If 5 competitors break records, each will get $200. The minimum is $100 and the maximum is $300 per record breaker.

US Record Breakers - US Citizens

If You break a US Record, you become part of the $3,000 Cash Pool. If 1 record is broken, the competitor will get $1000. If 5 competitors break records, each will get $600. The minimum is $500 and the maximum is $1000 per record breaker.

World Record Breakers - All Nationalities
If you break a World Record, you become part of the $6,000 Cash Pool. If 1 record is broken, the competitor will get $2,000. If 5 competitors break records, each will get $1200. The minimum is $500 and the maximum $2,000 per record breaker.

are defined as those posted under CIRC Records
US Records
are defined as those posted on the online Concept 2 Ranking that meet the following criteria:
LogBook postings between 2002 and February 15, 2008
Posted time must be certified as a Race

World Records are defined as those posted by Concept 2 as of February 15, 2008 http://www.concept2.com/us/training/records/2000m_records.asp

Record Challenge
cash prizes are only available to competitors who are over 24 years old and not part of any collegiate team.
Virtual Record Breakers must be certified and posted by Concept2 as a ’Race’
CIRC Record Breakers must compete on-site at CIRC 2008.

Records apply to the 2000 Meter distance only

Only one Record Challenge award per record-breaking competitor

A race judge reading the competitors Performance Monitor must certify records

Prizes will be issued by check within 21 days of the event.

Disputes must be registered within 24 hours of CIRC 2008 in writing and/or email to registration@chicagoindoorrowing.com

The Race Director will certify all records within 5 days of the event at which time all awards will be final.

By signing of the event waiver, all competitors agree to accept and abide by the above rules and conditions.
