Record Challenge - $10,000 Cash Pool
Compete Virtually or at CIRC 2010


US & World Records
If you compete in a recognized Concept 2 US or Canadian event between January 1, 2010 and February 22, 2010, you can register and compete in the CIRC 2010 Record Challenge. Requirements: You must register for CIRC 2010 no later than one day prior to your local recognized race. If you establish a new US or World Record (as posted on the CIRC website) at your event, you must notify us within 24 hours via email with the following: C2 race file, Confirming Photo, and the signed Race Organizers Certification. (PDF attached) You can enter as many sanctioned events as you wish up to and including the final event: CIRC 2010. (See Fine Print below)

CIRC Record Breakers - All Nationalities: $1,000 Pool
If you establish a new CIRC Record you become part of the $1000 Cash Pool. If 1 record is broken, the competitor will get $250. If 10 competitors break records, each will get $100 etc. The minimum is $50 and the maximum is $250 per record breaker.

USA Record Breakers - US Citizens: $3,000 Pool
If you establish a new US Record, you become part of the $3,000 Cash Pool. If 1 record is broken, the competitor will get $500. If 10competitors break records, each will get $300. The minimum is $100 and the maximum is $500 per record breaker.

World Record Breakers - All Nationalities: $6,000 Pool
If you establish a new World Record, you become part of the $6,000 Cash Pool. If 1 record is broken, the competitor will get $1,000. If 10 competitors break records, each will get $600. The minimum is $200 and the maximum $1,000 per record breaker.


Fine Print
Your Record Must Stand to Win
Records, and hence awards are not finalized until the conclusion of CIRC 2010 on February 27th, 2010. A competitor, for example, who breaks a valid record in January, may find it broken at a later event and hence bumped out of the money pool. Such a competitor can register for any other sanctioned event up to and including CIRC 2010 in an attempt to establish a new record.

Current CIRC Records are those posted on this site under CIRC Records.

USA/World Records are defined as those posted on this site that have met one of the following criteria:
Rankings posted on the Concept 2 site certified as ‘Race’ by February 25, 2010
2010 results posted by the CRASH-B competition
Valid Race Organizer Certifications submitted to CIRC in accordance with qualification/submission rules above.

Record Challenge cash prizes are only available to competitors who are over 24 years old and not part of any collegiate team.
CIRC Record Breakers must compete on-site at CIRC 2010.
Records apply to 2k races in non-Adaptive and 1k races in Adaptive.
Only one Record Challenge award per record-breaking competitor
A race judge must read the competitors Performance Monitor to certify records
CIRC prize money will be issued by check within 30 days of the event.
USA/World prize money will be issued by check within 90 days of the event.
Disputes must be registered and posted within 48 hours of CIRC 2010 via registered mail and Email.
The Race Director will certify all records within 14 days of the event where upon all awards will be final.
By signing the CIRC 2010 event waiver, all competitors agree to accept and abide by the above rules and conditions.
