$10,300 in Support Givebacks
CIRC exists to support and encourage local indoor and on-water programs for all ages and levels of ability. Givebacks are part of the mission. This year $10,300 supported the CAP, Challenge and Adaptive programs.

University of Chicago Sweeps Open Challenge

Women’s Division: University of Chicago
Going into the Challenge Relay, LPBC held the lead by 1.7 seconds over the University of Chicago. The UC relay time of 08:29.8 was 4.4 seconds faster than LPBC to give them not only the Open Challenge victory but also a new CIRC record beating Marquette’s previous record by .3 of a second at 16:11.2.

Men’s Division: University of Chicago
Going into the Challenge Relay, the Lincoln Park Boat Club held a .4 second lead over the University of Chicago followed by Chicago Training Center at -6.4 seconds. Pulling a 7:08.0 in the relay was enough for UC to claim the Open Challenge victory by 2.3 seconds at 13:38.2. .

Lincoln Park Juniors Sweep Youth Challenge

Women’s Division: Lincoln Park Juniors
Going into the Challenge Relay, LPJ held a 25.9 second lead over North Suburban Crew followed by Chicago Training Center. LPJ extended their time in the relay by an additional 19.2 seconds for a composite victory time of 16:22.2

Men’s Division: Lincoln Park Juniors
Going into the Relay, LPJ held a 3.1 second lead over New Trier. They extended their time in the relay by an additional 3.3 seconds to give LPJ nopt only the Youth Challenge victory but also a new CIRC record beating Detroit Boat Club’s previous record by 23.4 seconds at 13:46.8
